Mithun Chakraborty is a cornerstone of the diving community in the Andaman Islands, having been part of the industry since scuba diving first took root on Havelock Island. His journey is one of deep local roots combined with world-class professional training.
- A Living History: Mithun’s experience dates back to the very beginning of diving in Havelock, giving him an unmatched perspective on the evolution of the islands' reefs and marine life.
- Professional Evolution: After mastering the local waters and completing his PADI Divemaster certification in the Andamans, Mithun traveled to the world-renowned diving hub of Koh Tao, Thailand. There, in 2008, he earned his PADI Instructor credentials, bringing international safety and education standards back to his home waters.
- The Birth of Scuba Andaman: In 2014, Mithun turned his lifelong passion into a mission by founding Scuba Andaman. His goal was to provide a personalized, local experience backed by a decade of professional expertise.
- A Decade of PADI Excellence: Since its inception, Scuba Andaman has been a proud PADI-affiliated center. Today, Mithun is among the elite few in the islands to be honored with the PADI 10-Year Award, recognizing a decade of unwavering commitment to diver safety, education, and professional membership since 2015.
With over 18 years of personal diving experience and a legacy that spans the history of Havelock diving, Mithun ensures that every guest at Scuba Andaman is guided by one of the most experienced and respected professionals in the Bay of Bengal.
